FAQs
What is a switch-adapted toy?
A switch-adapted toy is a toy that has been modified to work with an external accessibility switch. This allows individuals with limited mobility or dexterity to activate the toy using a larger, more accessible button—making playtime more inclusive and empowering.
Who benefits from your products?
Our products are designed for children and adults with physical, developmental, or neurological disabilities—anyone who may have difficulty using traditional toys or daily-use items. We also create assistive tools to support independence for individuals with limited hand mobility or fine motor skills.
Are your toys new or used?
All of our toys are purchased secondhand unless otherwise stated or specially requested. We believe in keeping our products affordable and sustainable by giving quality toys a second life. Each one is thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and tested before being adapted.
How can I request a custom item?
We love creating custom adaptations. Just reach out with your idea or need, and we’ll work with you to make it happen—whether it’s a specific toy, a sensory tool, or a functional daily-use device.
Do you sell switches separately?
Yes, we do! In addition to the switch included with every toy, you can purchase extra switches individually through our shop.
Are your adapted toys safe?
Yes! Every toy is carefully inspected, cleaned, and tested by Cheyenne or Johnna before it leaves our workshop. We only select toys in excellent condition and adapt them with great care to ensure they are safe, functional, and durable.
Do your toys come with a switch?
Yes! Each toy includes one 3.5mm accessibility switch so it’s ready to use right out of the box. Additional switches are also available for purchase through our shop.
How can I support your mission?
By shopping with us, sharing our story, or donating gently used toys, you help us expand access to inclusive, affordable play. Every order makes a difference. You can also support us by following and tagging us on social media!
What kind of switches work with your toys?
Our adapted toys are compatible with standard 3.5mm switches, which are commonly used in assistive technology. If you’re looking to purchase extras or need help choosing the right one, we’re happy to help!
How many toys do you donate?
At Switch! It Up with Isaac, we are committed to donating at least two switch-adapted toys every month, regardless of the number of donations we receive. One toy is gifted each month to a resident of Indiana, as we are deeply dedicated to making a lasting impact in our local community. The second toy is donated to a resident elsewhere within the United States. Names for both giveaways are drawn on the first of every month. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the more toy donations we receive, the more children we are able to gift with adaptive play opportunities!
